Mailutils 3.12 Build Problem on Solaris

I'm trying to build Mailutils 3.12 [1] on a very
old Solaris 10 [2].

I see these messages before make gives up.

  mbox2dir.c: In function `mkhier':
  mbox2dir.c:420: error: `O_DIRECTORY' undeclared (first use in this function)
  mbox2dir.c:420: error: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
  mbox2dir.c:420: error: for each function it appears in.)
  make[2]: *** [mbox2dir.o] Error 1

Perhaps I missed a dependency or the tool chain is
too old.

At the moment, I am trying to to use decodemail
and mailutils 2047, so if I can avoid the problem
by using an older version that provides both those
features, I'd be grateful for a pointer to the
right version.
