This command is erroneous per se. The FETCH command takes two
arguments: sequence set and a list of message data item names or macro.
Try giving it the second argument and it will work. E.g.:
UID FETCH 1:* all
UID FETCH 1:* (bodystructure)
etc.

I agree that the error message is misleading and should be fixed.
