Oops, sorry for the confusion, my COPYING is:
GNU LESSER GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE
Version 2.1, February 1999
The wrong one got there, somehow.
OK, so the current situation is:
- non-GPL apps can use mailbox/*
- non-GPL apps cannot use the mu_argp_parse() configuration
mechanism, which includes sieve.
I have a few questions. Can
mail.local is GPL, so it cannot call an LGPL or BSD licenced
library, or can it?

Some of these look like they came from GNU libc. Does this mean we can
replace them with a LGPLed version recopied from libc?

I don't know if the whole library comes under the GPL, but certainly
any functions in lib/ or in mailutils/ that call GPLed code must themselves
be GPLed.
Ouf, this seems a problem.
Will we have to rewrite as LGPL or find LGPLed versions of GPLed library
functions?

Ok, sorry for losing the .mu.
