Comment #5 on issue 2418 by address@hidden: Patch: Don't copy GNUmakefile and *.make from within builddir to builddir
http://code.google.com/p/lilypond/issues/detail?id=2418I don't want a ~/lilypond. I have a ~/src/, which has about 20 repositories (mostly git, but a few svn). Each repository has its own subdirectory of ~src/.
Sure, I _could_ have a ~src/lilypond-src and ~src/lilypond-build, or I could have a /tmp/builds/lilypond, or something like that... but I don't want to. I want ~src/lilypond/ to contain everything related to the lilypond git repository, and the compiled source is IMO "related" to the source. The name build/ was chosen because I thought it wasn't a reserved word -- I wouldn't call it "out", for example.
