It's a bit difficult to tell that it's not about telnet, given that this is  
the title of the issue and persistent loading of guile hasn't been  
mentioned until I queried the issue.  Personally, I don't see saving a few  
10s of seconds processing 100 files as worth any effort at all, but there  
you go.
