Hi David
I think the snippet is behaving as intended. It is
not a bug.
It would not make sense to position a pp dynamic mark
in the gap created in a hairpin which goes from mf to
sff, would it? The hairpin relates to the lower of the
two voices, with the gap in the hairpin corresponding
to the rest in that voice. In that gap the upper
voice has a single note, which is to played pp.
