Hi Oliver,
This question is best to ask on the lilypond-user list, not the bug
list; but here is an answer for you anyway:
You need to use Ubuntu's standard package mechanism to install Lilypond
from the repository.
One way to do it: open a terminal and type the following command:
sudo apt-get install lilypond
It will ask you for the password, and then automatically download the
lilypond "deb" package and then install it.
Or, you can use Synaptic, which is a graphical interface to the package
management system.
