Docu feature request: Spacing

It happens that I find my scores too narrowly spaced, especially with big 
values of set-global-staff-size.

I suspect that a simple way to achieve this can be to changing some property 
that makes line breaks occur more often. However, I can not find this 
property in the manual.

If there is no way to just make breaks occur more often, then I'd like to ask 
for that feature.. it would really be useful (say value=0.75 => make line 
breaks as often as if the score width would be 0.75 times the actual width).
If there is a way to do it, then could this be better documented? E.g., a note 
about it could be added in Global layout => Horizontal spacing or =>Line 
breaking. A fairly simple user could want to use this, so it should IMHO be 
in the docu.
