I understand the reasons. I don't have any argument against the way it
works now. I think the point I should have made more clearly was that if
this is how LilyPond works now it represents a change from its previous
behavior. As such, it left me with some confusion until I realized what
was going on. The docs did not lead me to believe that lilypnd-book no
longer made *.latex files as it had been doing in the past.
