[bug-libunistring] Ubuntu bug 1813587

Hi Everyone,

I'm testing libunistring 0.9.10 on Ubuntu 18. It looks like I am
hitting https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libunistring/+bug/1813587
. glthread_create is failing due to
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/binutils/+bug/1340250 .

I use --as-needed regularly, and it is part of my standard LDFLAGS.

I was wondering if there is a Unistring-specific workaround for the issue?

(The libunistring home page at
https://www.gnu.org/software/libunistring/ does not provide a link to
the mailing list or archives. I'd like to search the archives but I
have not come across a link. Would it be possible to provide the link
on the project's homepage?)
