[Bug-lib-gplusplus] Config problems with libstdc++-2.90.6

Having a problem getting configure to run to completion.  Here is the
error:

checking for c++... c++
checking whether the C++ compiler (c++  ) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C++
compiler cannot create executables.
$ which c++
/usr/local/gcc/bin/c++
$ uname -a
SunOS indus 5.6 Generic_105181-05 sun4m sparc SUNW,SPARCstation-20


Using libstdc++-2.90.8 is not a solution because that distribution is
missing install-sh !
