Careful there: People reported serious FS corruptions with KVM. Doesn't
happen with plain Qemu, VirtualBox, or Xen...

That's probably because the networking is not set up. MTAs tend to be
like that...

In my experience, using ^\ is safer for aborting individual commands at
init time... At least on Linux. Not sure I ever tried on Hurd.

There was working support at some point, but it was never ported forward
to the current upstream version of the dhcp client. Also the patched
package never made it into official Debian sources IIRC :-(
