Yes, that's how I was thinking of it:
The upstream bug is that this is necessary.
The Guix bug is that this made it into the repository without patching, or
checks turned off.
I only ran into it because I was trying out a new package. I just deleted it
from my profile rather than dig into this, but I thought I'd report it :)
