I'm really sorry about the delay. I finally got it working. The
problem was twofold: on Debian-based systems, libffi is located in a
multiarch-specific subdirectory of /usr/lib, which GSRC didn't know
about; and GSRC wasn't properly searching for libraries that only have
versioned .so files (i.e. only libffi.so.5 exists, not libffi.so). The
latter problem was a bit tricky to solve because of a built-in Make
variable that I didn't know about that was interfering with my efforts.
Annnyway. Enough details. Please give it another try and let me know
if it works now.
