[Bug-gsl] Error In make check

Hello Maintainers
I am trying to build the library on Stratus OpenVOS v17. The build process 
went through without a hitch however the make check gives me the following 
errors
FAIL:   QRPT_update hilbert(12)
FAIL: QRPT Rank-1 Update
I tried to build a debug version by adding -g manually in the make file. 
Isn't there a global macro that will enable a debug build all over the 
code?
