Follow-up Comment #8, bug #47639 (project grub):

Using Leap grub (2.02~beta2) with font from Tumbleweed correctly displays all
symbols. As there are no changes in grub-mkfont this looks indeed like system
library issue. Do you happen to have reference to freetype bug?
