Details:

Version: 2.02_beta2-r7 : 2 (Gentoo), but bug has been present since I
switched to Grub2 a couple of years ago.

If Grub is configured to run at a higher resolution (1280x1024 or 1600x1200)
the menu has a user input delay of several seconds. I have 6-8 entries in the
menu, and if I press arrow down, the UI takes a couple of seconds before
moving to the next entry.

My machine is an Intel Core address@hidden GHz with 16 Gb of RAM and an ATI
Radeon
R290, so the hardware should not be a problem.

I use two screen connected via DVI connections.

I currently don't have access to my computer, so I'm unable to paste my
grub.conf.

This issue has been reported on many, many forums before, but there never seem
to be any other solution than "If you revert to running it in 640x480 it's
faster".

I really hope it is possible to improve the performance for the higher
resolution as well.

Examples of bug reports:

https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/480159
http://forums.fedoraforum.org/showthread.php?t=279954

I really hope this can be solved soon.
