Details:

This appears to be an incompatibility with libzfs2.

System details:

Ubuntu 12.04.4 amd64
kernel version: 3.11.0-15-generic

zfs built from source ( http://github.com/zfsonlinux/zfs )
spl built from source ( http://github.com/zfsonlinux/spl )
grub built from source ( http://git.savannah.gnu.org/r/grub.git/ )

All source aquired via git clone, performed today ( 2014-02-11 ) in clean
working dirs.

Build arguments for grub:
./configure --enable-libzfs  (no errors observed)
make (no errors observed)
make install (no errors observed)

binaries in /usr/local/sbin/ failed w/ segfault when performing commands as
demonstrated in attached files.
