Follow-up Comment #2, bug #36882 (project grub):

no, the stick is fresh. But the second thing can be (just 8 €).

But even it is a bad product this behaviour shouldn't exist.
It seems so as if grub-probe changes some mount information about the block
device.
Together with a bad driver (what I think) a wonderful explosive mixture.
