Issue with grub-20110106 on dm-raid. Autodetection failed

Dear grub maintainers,

A system update with Ubuntu natty triggered a grub error. grub2 in 
ubuntu natty (20110106) failed to install on a dmraid

/usr/sbin/grub-probe: error: cannot find a GRUB drive for 
/dev/disk/by-uuid/088020a6-d9b5-4d61-ba8e-dd0985bda002.  Check your 
device.map.
Auto-detection of a filesystem of 
/dev/disk/by-uuid/088020a6-d9b5-4d61-ba8e-dd0985bda002 failed.
Please report this together with the output of "/usr/sbin/grub-probe

I've tried several things, checked blkid, re-created devicemap, config, 
etc.... no luck.

grub2 installed ok reverting to with debian sid version (1.98-20100804)
According to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/grub2/+bug/700147
the error does not happen with grub-pc_1.99~20110104-2ubuntu1
