Details:

menuentries no longer handle 'if' statements or scripting functions
(functions defined by the 'function' keyword) when selected from the menu. 
Executing them from the editor still works as expected

As far as I can tell the problem is caused by commit 2445 and menuentries are
now interpreted by the rescue parser instead of the normal parser.
