Details:
The multiboot specification specifies that modules loaded after the
"multiboot" command with the "module" command should have information passed
to the kernel in the multiboot structure.
Having spent a wee amount of time trying to figure why my kernel can't
receive this information, I have successfully tested with grub1.
Can you confirm this functionality is present in Grub 2?
