grub2 is now in a good shape and on Debian we want to make it the
default for the 2nd next release named squeeze (lenny+1)
Debian lenny will be the first Debian stable release with grub2.
I don't know for other distributions but Debian is the most active one
working on the grub2 transistion I think :)
Well the open bug list on Savannah says mainly documentation needs some
small fixes for grub-legacy.
So no need to spend much time to grub-legacy but a bit work shouldn't
hurt. I just don't know really what you could or should do for it.
