Error in detecting amount of memory

Hello,

I installed Grub 0.95 on a machine with two Athlon Opteron processors an
6GB of memory. 

When I try to boot a Linux Kernel, grub stops and prints an error
message "Item cannot fit into memory". I think that that is an error of
grub, because 6GB should be enough for every possible Linux Kernel.
