Summary:  Can not boot Windows XP from grub

Original Submission:  OS : Fedora Core 2
Disk layout :

1 old 12 GB disk (IBM DJNA-371350) dedicated to Windows on on-board PATA 
controler

2 newer 80 GB disks (Maxtor 6Y080L0) on PCI PATA controler (SII680) in Linux 
software raid 1 configuration. Fedora Core 2. Grub installed on the first drive 
mbr

When I tell the bios to boot from the SII680 card Grub and Linux are loaded 
without problem. When I tell it to boot from the first hard drive windows 
boots. When I tell grub to chainload boot on the windows partition nothing 
happens.
