Thanks for the quick feedback. From that its sounds most strange
that a standard install of FreeBSD 5.x which defaults to UFS
results in:
Filesystem type unknown, partition type 0xa5 BSD

The only way I found to get it to work was to follow the advice
in the link and use chainloader. I appreciate this isnt a support
address but would still at this moment consider it a issue.
