Hi Paul,
To me, it looks as if bootsect.deb successfully loaded a sector from disk
(that's why it doesn't print an error message) and started it, but it wasn't
stage 2 (or stage 1.5). Where to find this piece of software is hard-coded in
stage 1 by the grub-install program.
Is your windows partition on the same disk as your linux partition?
