Ah, I understand that you were talking about a thing different from
mine. I just wanted to insist on how essential cmp is.

BTW, I don't think your statement is correct, either. "any expected
fashion" is exaggerated. For instance, you should be able to expect
that "echo Done." will print "Done.\n".

I'd like to hear your honest opinion. Note that I'm the maintainer but
not a dictator.
