Hello !

I had yesterday the same problem on an Austrian notebook
named IPC, a PIII,600E with 128MB RAM.

Booting GRUB from floppy (and I think loading it from disk is the
same) hangs after

GRUB stage2 .....

In my case, the systems hangs here, this notebook has no graphic
welcome screen.

I tried later with an older version (0.5.95, more than one year ago),
and this works !!

At the moment, I do not have the notebook to analyse this further...
