FYI, I have patches for netboot/config.c and the eepro100 and 3c90x
drivers to skip NICs where link is not detected.

Sadly, though I've tried to share this code, nobody wants it.  The
Netboot project doesn't care about such a feature, since netboot's
code is designed to be flashed into NIC ROMs; and if you can do that,
then you obviously are going to plug your cable into the NIC with the
special ROM, so searching is unimportant.  Meanwhile, the GRUB project
doesn't want to keep modified versions of files that come from the
Netboot project.

Result: Nobody else gets my neat feature.  *sigh*
