Hi,

I have a
Dual Pentium 3 Motherboard - Asus Board
1x Pentium 3 550mhz
Ultra2 Scsi, with a Ultra2SCSI (9gig) hard disk, which is my primary drive, and bootable, with WindowsME and Bootmagic installed.
a 16 gig EIDE hard disk (primary master) with a 5gig Linux partition, with Linux Mandrake 7.2 installed.
128meg PC133 Ram.
GeForce Graphics card, Network adapter etc.

Right, I can install Linux no probs, and then when the Mandrake installer asks where to put the bootloader (which is GRUB) then I say hda2  which is a partition i created for /boot.  It installs there ok, and then when I boot into windows using bootmagic, I can add Linux to the bootmagic menu ok.  When I then reboot, I click on Linux, and GRUB displays this -

stage1,

and thats it, it hangs there.  Any ideas on what I can do?  I am installing Linux NOT onto the SCSI drive which is the first one, I am installing into a partition within the second drive (Primary Master IDE)   I have tried putting the drive onto LBA mode and stuff but nothin helps. What can I do?

Thanks,
