Agreed. I keep that in mind. I guarantee that we will change the
default behavior, once a public version is released, so that we can
introduce some incompatibility.

Because I don't like that there are so many variants of GRUB, what do
you think about that we add a configure option into the official GRUB,
so that you can change the default behavior optionally? For example:

$ ./configure --disable-automatic-linux-mem-option

With this option, all you need to modify is grub.spec, and you don't
have to touch the source code itself.
