Booting floppy images?

Is there a way to boot floppy images with Grub, like most modern
BIOSes can do with the floppy images in bootable CD-ROMs?

If Grub can do that, or if it is easy to hack it to do so, then it
would be much easier to test installation floppies for the main free
OSs (Linux, Hurd, (Net|Open|Free)BSD), and to prepare small sets of
files that would install a minimal version of any of these OSs from a
Linux partition, without having to burn CDs or to try to write the
images of their installation floppies to real floppies (that always
have bad sectors, anyway).

(BTW, the spec for bootable ("El Torito") CDs can be found at
<http://www.phoenix.com/products/specs-cdrom.pdf>, and the home pages
for etherboot and netboot, that may be able to do something like that
(but maybe only for images gotten form a net device) are at
<http://etherboot.sourceforge.net/> and at
<http://www.han.de/~gero/netboot/>.)
