tbl tries to catch this situation, but doesn't bail out cleanly enough.
Affects groff 1.22.4.
$ cat EXPERIMENTS/bad-repeated-character.roff

$ tbl EXPERIMENTS/bad-repeated-character.roff >/dev/null

Segmentation fault (core dumped)
