Keith wrote a better version of this diagnostic for the ms package on 23
October.

A "port" of that logic to me(7) would be responsive to this ticket and my
original concern.  The main issue (or I'd have done it myself already) is the
register names; I don't know me(7)'s off the top of my head.

I do note the diagnostic in the above commit does not communicate the sum used
in the comparison to the user.  That might indeed be helpful to report.
