Is it?  Simply copy the whole CVS repository, do your changes, then
say

  cvs -z9 diff -u > foo

and you are done.

Thanks for the offer, I won't do that in the near future.  The
Canonical people already maintain a bzr repository; if I ever switch,
then I don't have to anything...
