  You need the following tools to build groff directly from CVS:

    the netpbm package
    texinfo >= 4.6
    bison >= 1.875b or byacc
    ghostscript

Apparently your texinfo version is too old -- after a `make dist' the
info files are already built thus normal users won't have a problem.
