Hi,
I recently installed groff on a SGI Irix 6.5 using the 'freeware' site of
SGI. The installation procedure went okay but when I use man to look at a
particular page I get this error message:
geqn:fatal error: can't open `/usr/pub/eqnchar': No such file or directory
gtroff: fatal error: can't open `/usr/lib/tmac/tmac.an': No such file ...
As far as I can see most of the resources are installed in
/usr/freeware/share/groff ....
To me it appears as if groff etc. is looking for files in the wrong
directory. While I was able to find tmac and created a link so that
/usr/lib/tmac -> /usr/freeware/share/groff/tmac
I could not find eqnchar at all !!
Does anyone have any idea ?? ( Currently I don't have a c++ compiler (not
even g++) so I cannot install groff 1.16 ) . Is there an environment
variable which I can set so that groff looks for stuff in the right place
and what can I do about eqnchar ???
Thanks,
Lothar Esser
