grep manual --line-buffering vs buffered

Hi,

The grep manual page (dated 2002/01/22) lists --line-buffering as an option. The grep command recognises --line-buffered instead. (The grammar in the description is bad too :-)

See man grep vs grep --help.

Apparently this has been fixed in the FreeBSD man page as of October 2004. See http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-doc/2004-October/ 006024.html

This has been reported to address@hidden before but no action is recorded in that thread. See http://sources.redhat.com/ml/bug-gnu- utils/2003-03/msg00215.html

http://directory.fsf.org/grep.html lists grep 2.5.1a as the latest version. It does not have the bug fix.

You could use the same patch as FreeBSD - see http:// lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-doc/2004-October/006024.html
