Some salt is appropriate as usual, but I find jidanni's documentation
feedback useful.  I don't think of him as being upset; rather, he's
trying to improve the documentation whenever a natural task isn't
obviously derivable from the manual.  Not all his observations are
on-target, but enough of them are, so that I find his missives
worthwhile reading.

For this particular task "grep for non-ASCII characters", I had just
two days before tried to solve the same problem, and discovered that
'grep', somewhat to my surprise, can't do it.  This is worth either
mentioning or fixing, in my opinion.
