Follow-up Comment #1, patch #3965 (project grep):

Isn't there the problem that, when using a production package where
"grep.pot" is precomputed, it will reside under srcdir, but in any other
situation where it is initially absent and has to be recomputed, it will
eventually reside under the build directory?

This comment doesn't apply to "stamp-cat-id" as it is always a generated
file; the srcdir there can probably be safely removed.
