I do not think you will be greatly interested, however I am leaving grep.
I am interested, as the contributions you made seem to be of high quality. I'm sorry to hear you are leaving. Perhaps you will be able to "visit" from time to time, or come back if and when all the pending bugs are cleared and development is back to how it should be.
Please do use or cannibalize whatever patches I still have pending on savannah.
Thanks. Will do.
Grep gave me the opportunity to learn a lot (I learned grep source, pcre, regex, Unicode, gnulib, old m4 macros I never heard about :), ...). I do not quite agree with how the development/maintainment is going on, as I often told Stepan, so I will try to find another project which needs some help.
Oh. Certainly we have a problem with Grep's maintenance over the last few years, but I didn't know you had some ideas on how we could work better. I would like to hear your ideas (in private if you prefer).
Good luck to grep and to all grep people!
Thanks, and good luck with whatever you are doing next. - Julian
