[bug-grep] Grep: Broken pipe error

After compiling grep 2.5.1a on Solaris 2.9, I try to use the grep program
but get the follwing error:

What could be the problem?

 

>% ls -l /site/bin/grep

-rwxr-xr-x   1 root     other     851968 Jan 19 12:10 /site/bin/grep

>% /site/bin/egrep MSHSPA /umls/Releases/2005AA/META/MRCONSO.RRF | head -1

egrep: writing output: Broken pipe

...

 

>% /site/bin/grep MSHSPA /umls/Releases/2005AA/META/MRCONSO.RRF | head -1

grep: writing output: Broken pipe

...
