I have to admit that the bug still exists in the GNU grep, even in the
CVS version.

But I have verified on a Red Hat system, that this is fixed there.

So once we integrate all the Red Hat patches (thanks to Tim Waugh for the
work), we should fix the bug too.
(Or it might be that it's a bug in the regex implementation in GNU libc,
in which case it would depend on a glibc version.)

In any case, the bug won't be forgotten and I'll let you know when it's
resolved.
