I got a message that the papers have arrived on Monday.
I commited the patch today.  (Downloaded from
http://oss.software.ibm.com/linux/patches/?patch_id=25
)

I proceeded with trying to catch up with gawk's version of dfa.c.

I finished the surgery, and I have several patches to submit for
review.  (I commited several minor changes which don't need a review,
mostly typos.)

I'll post a more detailed report soon, probably tomorrow.
