Honestly, I think it's just a matter of the user agent, because IIRC
IceCat actively advertises itself as being a different browser than
i.e. Firefox.

You could try to un-break Discord by going to `about:config` and
setting the value of `general.useragent.override` to something like the
following:

   Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:60.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/60.0

This is the user agent used by the Tor Browser. I assume this may
convince Discord that you're using a compatible browser and un-break
the voice chat.

Other than that, I generally agree with bill's line of argumentation
that IceCat's purpose is not to generally support everything, but
rather to provide a free software browsing experience for people who
don't want to rely on non-free content.
