very big disk space to build icecat

Hi
I would just like to know if it is normal that the compilation of icecat is 
rather greedy in disk space. Or if it is me who spend bad options.
Indeed, the compilation takes me more of 3.5 go of space!
(I notified this since icecat 4.0).
