I thought it downloads the entire package, approximately in the same way
it does for new .xpi files; I just checked and they do, in fact on their
FTP site there are some .partial.mar files used by the update process.
In the previous message, that you posted here, I answered to the
possibility to distribute an incremental update against the older
version, like for example a xdelta file to manually apply.
