Hi, thank for your answer

So, is lack of SVG support a bug of gnuzilla, or is it just a flag
    set at compile time ?

I thought SVG was supported through plugins, not natively. If that's
so, then firefox plugins don't automatically transfer over to iceweasel ...

No, that was the case with firefox 1.0.x, but SVG is supported natively
since firefox 1.5.x

The very reason I'm asking this is because I am author of an extension
for Firefox that needs native SVG to work. I tested it on iceweasel: it
installs well but doesn't work at all. I searched a way to prevent
my extension from installing on iceweasel but didn't find one.

Anyway, even without svg, gnuzilla is still a nice project :)

I believe adding this line:
ac_add_options --enable-svg
to the .mozconfig might do it. I use that when compiling my
Incognilla/SeaMonkey builds to enable SVG support.

I'm not sure whether that line would conflict in any way with another line
currently present in iceweasel's .mozconfig, "ac_add_options
--disable-svg-renderer-cairo" ...

best,
