Details:

I tried to do "make" on gnustep-base 1.24.4 , 1.24.5, 1.24.6 on CentOS 5.10 .
But they are could not be compiled anyway.

--- snipped ---
 Compiling file GSFFIInvocation.m ...
 Linking library libgnustep-base ...
/usr/bin/ld: obj/libgnustep-base.obj/GSString.m.o: relocation R_X86_64_PC32
against `GSPrivateHash' can not be used when making a shared object; recompile
with -fPIC
/usr/bin/ld: final link failed: Bad value
collect2: ld returned 1 exit status
----

This issue is also reported here.
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-gnustep/2014-02/msg00000.html

I checked if this would reproduce on older revision .
So I found this issue was from r36344.

Regards.
